The Interpretations of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq

According to Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.), seeing bracelets in a dream can carry twelve different meanings: a brother, a sister, a partner, a friend, strength, wisdom, rank, affection, children, wealth and prosperity, occupation or agriculture, and deceit. This broad spectrum shows that the bracelet is not only a symbol of adornment but also of deep spiritual and social significance.

The Views of Ibn Sirin and Kirmani

The renowned dream interpreter Ibn Sirin explained that bracelets symbolize marriage for women, while for men they represent poverty and distress. A silver bracelet, however, suggests that sorrow will be lighter.
Kirmani emphasized that if a ruler gives someone a bracelet in a dream, it signals that the dreamer or their sibling will have a child. For women, it often means forthcoming marriage.

Contemporary Scholars and al-Maghribi’s Insights

Contemporary scholars believe that wearing a bracelet in a dream points to a hidden love affair. Receiving a bracelet as a gift symbolizes joy, while seeing someone else wearing one reflects unnecessary spending. A black bracelet is associated with illness, whereas seeing many bracelets indicates extravagance.
Al-Maghribi explained that wearing silver bracelets on both arms indicates wealth gained through effort and hardship.

The Diyanet and Traditional Explanations

According to Diyanet interpretations, seeing bracelets in a dream means marriage for unmarried women and sorrow for men. Golden bracelets often point to inheritance, while silver bracelets indicate hardship. A twisted bracelet is considered worse than a plain one. Losing a bracelet suggests sadness over unattainable wishes, whereas finding one indicates unexpected wealth or inheritance.

Nabulsi and Other Scholars

Nabulsi suggested that bracelets in dreams bring sorrow to men but joy and adornment to women. If bracelets are seen on the deceased, they are believed to signify that the deceased has attained paradise. Silver bracelets indicate increasing wealth, while gold bracelets may represent inheritance.
Seyyid Suleiman interpreted them as a sign of marriage for women but grief for men. Other interpreters highlighted that the material of the bracelet (gold, silver, glass, copper, or iron) changes its meaning—ranging from joy and fortune to hardship and deceit.
